Throwback Thursday: Royal Wood's "I'm So Glad"

On a particularly sunny Thursday, I thought it would be nice to give one of my biggest Toronto crushes and certainly one of Canada's most beautiful voices, Royal Wood, a throwback nod for his 2008 ballad "I'm So Glad." The dapper man behind easily one of my favourite love songs,  and Sarah Slean's hubby, actually penned the swaying guitar and piano classic for his oldest brother's wedding before it became a first dance favourite for many more fans in the years to follow.

Written about his parent's loving relationship, "I'm So Glad" is,  like some of the most timeless ballads, incredibly simplistic in its progression - something that I think adds to the tune's magic. Whenever I mention this as a staple in my gooey love song collection, I'm amazed how many people haven't heard the single or the songsmith; Wood may normally be a bit pop-rock for my liking, but his handsome Canadian croon is too beautiful to be shunned.

Have a warm and fuzzy Thursday with this:
